The only real way to learn to use a skateboard is through experience.
So to support the budding skateboarding community in the Philippines, Mountain Dew decided to turn its skate park advertising materials into something useful – billboards that held skateboards people could learn from and use. Illustrated step-by-step guides to the tricks gave a guide, while the skateboards gave people a way to try things out for themselves. Messaging on the billboards also encouraged skaters to share the skateboards with others in the spirit of brotherhood.
The Skatebillboards were put up in the Philippines only for-pay skate park. And were even featured in the country’s biggest skateboarding event of the year.
